Good for you, Anon! You are an absolutely beautiful person and I commend you for standing up for what you believe in.
Also, in the future, better to walk away from the situation instead of punching anyone :)
Anywho, this article here says exactly what you did. There are no “oopsie” babies when it comes to a gay couple. When they want a kid, they have to be 100% ready and jump through flaming government hoops in order to adopt one, find a surrogate, or get sperm from a sperm bank.
The rate of “oopsie” babies in straight couples? 50%. FIFTY PERCENT. Half of all babies born to heterosexual couples are not wanted, or the parents are not ready to have them, or the parents did not plan to have them. There is more love given to a child who is wanted and worked towards. This video here also talks about that same article, and has a straight dad admitting that this research is not surprising to him.
Also, this is a big thing for me. You’re not supportive of anything if you say “They can do it but…” This goes for anything.
"Oh yeah, you can breastfeed, but I don’t think you should do so in public. It’s just indecent.”
"Homosexual couples can get married, but I don’t think they should be able to adopt. They’ll make their child gay.”
"There can be plus sized models, but they shouldn’t be in advertisements. It promotes obesity.”
If there is a “if” or “but” in your support of whatever issue, you are not fully, 100% supportive of that issue. If you are going to label yourself as a supporter, an ally, a friend, a whatever of ANY issue, you CANNOT have a clause in your support. “I will only support this issue IF….”
"I support this issue BUT…"
No. You don’t support it. Sit down. Re-evaluate your life, your support, and your morals and only stand up and fight for what you believe in if you are 100% behind it.
